Here is a good one for you guys : The failure of the Grayhill switch inside the API 550A, dual concentric mid band EQ control :
As you probably know, I never give up, and I always need full technical explanations when something fails badly, so I just had to know why the f**k 2 of the switches/poles were open circuit in this 7 pole Grayhill switch... Here is your answer :

The last Fairchild 670 mkII a made in September is the first one going to Mexico City ever !
Nice One guys, special thanks to Raal (Rafael Villafane) and everyone at Baby'O Recorders 👍🏻.

This one has the attack and release mods, plus the faster release on position 4, so it's pretty much ready to Rock ! Enjoy guys !

This month, the Pom Fairchild 670 mkII is going to a great home : Oak House Recording

This one has a nice selection of late 1950s Transformers, and all the options : Attack, Variable Release, and inserts on the side chain...
I know it took a long time to get that one (a few years !?), but it was worth the wait! Enjoy it David 👍🏻!

I've just spent the last 6 weeks making these two Custom Units for "Mr producer" in Hollywood, but I am not allowed to say who and where they're going to exactly... Sorry...
These are option 5S, but don't worry, I am sure you will hear them both on the radio all over the world soon... Weeeeee !

I just send this email to one of my supplier this morning, tell me what you think :

- 2 x emails : Thanks for your order

- 2 x emails : Order Despatched

- 2 x emails : invoice 1 then invoice 2

- 1 x email : from me to ask for one invoice only please ?

- 1 x email : from you to say that your system only works like that… 😕

- 1 x email : form me now to mention all this today !

- 1 x email : hopeful one final single invoice form you that reflects what I bought on the 20-04-24

That is a total of 11 emails for one order.

I am taking the time to say all this today because some careful studies from the Shift Project (see below) have shown that each email we send is equivalent to having an old fashion 35 watts light bulb ON for about an hour, due to the complexity of the worldwide web infrastructure, how greedy data centres are on the grids throughout the world, and how long we spend in front of our computers...

—> So, here we have spent 11 emails at 35 watts = 385 watts

—> Plus two shipments using the Royal Mail infrastructure which also has a big carbon signature in the UK, not to mention the loss of income for you guys to do two shipments…?

Please reflect on these points when you get a minute, and also, please fell free to forward this email to the management and anybody you know, as this could make the difference for preparing 2030 and after, especially when copper starts to run out badly on earth and when the impact of mining becomes unsustainable for the environment...

I would be delighted to be part of a cultural change, and I feel we all have to contribute to changing our ways as soon as possible if we really mean to be concerned about the kind of world we are leaving to our children. This last order I placed with Fix and Fast will last me about 10 years for my manufacturing, so optimisation is at the heart of it all if we want to make it.

I hope this email was a great investment in time and resources.
