Gong Hei Fat Choi to everyone, 2026 is the year of the Fire Horse.
According to Hong Kong-based feng shui consultant Thierry Chow “2026 is probably one of the fieriest years you will get,” she says.
“Industries associated with the fire category will dominate — from technology to anything that generates energy and fire. Arts, fashion and cooking also rely heavily on fire. You can expect these sectors to get more attention.”
Chow says that fire influence is going to impact both the weather and people’s temperaments — so the world should be on the lookout for more heat-related disasters this year, as well as heightened tensions in already heated relationships.
“But for people who do need fire, this can be a very good year. Generally, people born in autumn and winter benefit from having more fire in their elements,” she adds.
“There is no absolute good or bad,” says Chow. “One lesson I take from Confucian philosophy is that you can bring what you lack into your life through awareness and effort.”

Congratulations to Sifu Gary Wragg and his team for staging the 15th London International Tai Chi Chuan Competition at Clissold Park Leisure centre on Sunday 14th June. All the hard work that went into putting on the event is appreciated by those who attended. Let's hope that next year there will be more willing participants ready to compete, and demonstrate the range of activities the Tai Chi Chuan encompasses.

A few photos from our bank holiday gathering in Uplyme near Lyme Regis. A good time was had by all, sharing information about the different variations of Wu's style Tai Chi Chuan, without rancour or judgement, just an exchange of ideas and experiences. More to follow.

It was a pleasure to meet our ex-instructor Warren Gavin on a brief stopover in London on his way to Bangkok. We met in the St. John's Tavern in Archway for a pint and a chat and I was pleased to find that he hasn't changed that much, except the pony tail has gone.😄
