Hello.
As many of you will know, School of Frock has been nominated for an award at this year's Mayor of Lewisham Business Awards. I'm particularly proud that it's in the category of Best Sustainable Business. Teaching students to reuse and reimagine old and neglected garments or materials has been a central part of my curriculum for years (I've attached a link at the bottom to a Huffington Post article from way back in 2012 where I talk about it). It's really great to be recognised for this.
Voting ends at 9am on Monday morning, next week. October. 13th. I know many of you have already voted, but I'm hoping that those who maybe hadn't heard of our nomination or haven't got round to voting yet will feel able to vote for me (and some of our other excellent, local businesses nominated in other categories). I'd also love it if you could do a little canvassing for votes with like-minded friends and family. The link for voting is here:

The awards ceremony is in November and I'll be attending with my wonderful team - Lilly and Neve, I hope. It'll be an excuse to wear a nice dress! Not that I ever need that.
Thanks in advance for your votes. I really, really appreciate all the support you've given me since I launched back in 2007. Can't believe it will be our twentieth year next year. What better way than this to begin the celebrations?!
Lots of love.
Cilene

We are absolutely thrilled to have been short-listed for Best Sustainable Business at this year's Lewisham Business Awards. We'd really appreciate it if you could vote for us via the link below. We promise to send photos of the dresses we wear at the awards ceremony in November!! Love. Cilene.

Wrote this more than ten years ago - but it seems more relevant than ever. Spending time with friends and family and being active or creative is massively important to children's wellbeing.
A Stitch In Time? There's a Simple Pattern for Making Happier Children
Each year, it seems, we get a new, academic study confirming that it is the good, old-fashioned pleasures of friends, family and, in particular, fulfilling activity that makes youngsters feel really contented.

Hello everyone,
I'm planning to start a new, four week adult course starting next week, on Wednesday March 15th. Provided there is enough interest, I plan to run two sessions of two hours each, one at 2pm and the other at 7pm.
I am also hoping to run an Easter workshop for children on Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th of April, from 10am to 1pm.
I've also got a few places left in my 4pm after school children's classes on Thursdays.
If you would like more details or to book any of these classes please send me an email at [email protected]
Thanks so much again for all your interest and support. Cilene.

This is precisely what we are doing this term with our young students. It's all about sustainability and zero waste. SO...if we were to run adult classes, offering a chance to repair and re-style your wardrobe, would you be interested? Let us know.
