After keeping this great Toastmasters club going for the past 5 years, most of our team graduated from Imperial College and moved on. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, economic factors, and difficulty in recruiting new members we were not able to find a new officer team to continue the legacy.

The club is still registered with the Imperial College Union if any current or future Imperial College students would like to revive the society.

Dear all,
I am going to give a talk and co-host the British Society for Plant Pathology on mentoring new researchers! The event is free and open to all. The knowledge on offer will help people in all kinds of mentoring, not just plant science so pleas come along if you're a current or future mentor!

This workshop will provide advice for researchers who are involved in mentoring inexperienced researchers, such as students involved in summer research internships, honours research projects or masters projects. It is particularly targeted towards postdoctoral researchers, graduate students and other research staff who are involved in the day-to-day supervision and mentoring of inexperienced researchers. We will discuss various aspects of mentoring for students involved in diverse types of research:
Planning,
Training approaches,
Time-management,
Giving feedback,
Self-evaluation,
Inclusive mentoring of students from diverse backgrounds.

April is the month to renew or begin your Toastmasters membership. If you have ever joined our club as a guest and liked what you saw (and heard), now is the time to make the commitment to self improvement via public speaking. My home club is Imperial College Speakers club and we meet in person at the Imperial College South Kensington campus as well as online on Zoom. We are open to membership from all interested persons. If you'd like to know more please PM me.

Dear all, I am reaching out about renewing your memberships

For all current members, unless you have paid a 1 year membership in September, March is the time to pay for your next 6 months of active membership
For all current members, to renew your membership please pay me £34.14 (equivalent to the TM international fee of $45).

I have 3 ways for you to pay:
1. Privately message me your credit card information and I will use it to buy your 6 month active membership. I will delete your credit card info from my email or messaging app ASAP.
2. Buy me an Amazon gift card for the amount for my family's Amazon UK account.
3. Transfer the money to my bank account. I can do this but it is not ideal for me because of issues with it being counted as income.

If you are a prospective member, now is a GREAT time to join! If you are an Imperial College student, staff or faculty, please buy the one time membership off our club's shop on the Union shop. Then, buy the 6 month active membership via one of the 3 options listed above.
For brand new members, I will need your full name, preferred pronouns, telephone number, street address, and permanent email.
Please note that if you're planning to be active long term in the club, you can buy a 1 year membership instead of a 6 month membership now.
