Nare Joo presents âGuacamayo Tropical,â a series of large-scale oil paintings exploring surreal dreamscapes as a way of visualising contemporary anxiety.
Through distorted figures and vivid colour palettes, the works transform the canvas into a multidimensional psychological environment shaped by uncertainty and imagination. Rather than offering an escape from reality, the works actively confront the instability of the present moment.
Nareâs collection of six oil paintings will be on display alongside many othersâ work at the Undergraduate Art Degree Show, showcasing work by graduating artists from the BA (Hons) Fine Art, BA (Hons) Fine Art & History of Art, plus Tooth Travelling Scholarship and BA (Hons) Fine Art (Extension) and BA (Hons) Curating courses at Goldsmiths.
Opening night is next week (18 June), with the show open Friday 19 - Monday 22 June. See www.gold.ac.uk/degree-shows (or go to the link in bio) for full information and opening times, and for more about Nareâs work.
