“And at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling.” - Shanti

Outdoor Learning is integral to a Finton education. This afternoon, Year 1 have been at Tom’s Farm shovelling compost, planting bulbs and making friends with the local worms 🪱💙

A group of Fintonians hit our TV screens last week as they starred in the new Channel 5 Documentary, "Five-a-Day: The Big Con?" 🍏🥕🍝😱

This exciting project was spearheaded by Old Fintonian Julia Whitehouse (’04), an Assistant Producer for Mentorn Media. During the episode, Mr Joe teaches a lesson about healthy eating and our pupils discuss the different foods that count as your five-a-day. They are shocked by the hidden levels of sugar which are found in products marketed to us as ‘healthy choices’.

Not all heroes wear capes… some come brandishing bin bags and litter pickers!

Best friends Arthur and Kit, both Y5, noticed the great amount of litter around the Common as they walked to and from school (particularly on road side edges) and decided to do something about it. Here are just a few photos of them out and about in December, including over the Christmas holidays. We are so proud of them. 🙌

Whilst Christmas may seem like a long time ago now, we are delighted to have raised £359.26 for St. George's Hospital (Tooting) by donning Santa hats on the last day of the Autumn Term!

In assembly this morning, our Lower School pupils listened to Jo from Pets As Therapy talk about the important work done by therapy dogs in hospitals and schools across the UK. Following that, each class was able to spend some quality time with the lovely and gentle Teasel in the front garden. It’s safe to say that she made a lot of friends today, all of whom hope to see her again very soon.

Whilst many things are different this term, many things - like maths lessons, yummy snacks at break time and playing games with friends - are still the same. However, we know that it's hard to really picture what life here is like when it's not currently possible to come and visit us. We've put something together which hopefully will show you what a special, happy and safe place Finton is and continues to be.

All clips have been filmed during the Autumn Term 2020.

We are so proud of Year 4 pupil Sophia for embarking on the 'Take Steps' challenge 👣 for the British Lung Foundation and reaching the top of the leaderboard with her younger brother, Mahdi! They have raised over £1000 so far, with every £57 paying for a nurse to work on the helpline for an hour, providing crucial medical advice and support to people with lung conditions.

We recognise that parents have had a difficult time placing uniform orders via Perry's, with added pressure because we have been unable to safely hold our usual second-hand uniform sale. We invite parents to comment below with uniform items for sale, and hope this hub provides the opportunity for families to connect. Please detail item(s), sizes and pickup location, and could interested buyers please DM the seller to discuss further.
