On Friday, our pupils took part in our annual Inter House Music Competition.

With a record 273 performances across all Houses and Year Groups, our pupils showcased their incredible musical talents, performing on a wide range of instruments - some even at Grade 8 level!

A huge well done to all of the pupils who took part and made this such a fantastic celebration of music. 🎵

From bubble tea making to a Chinese Music Talent Show, this week has been full of exciting activities as we celebrated Lunar New Year across the Senior School.

Our students embraced the festivities, reciting poetry, learning about the Lantern Festival, and even sharing how they made their own homemade Chinese dishes at home. A fantastic way to explore traditions and come together as a school community.

We're excited to welcome OE George White on 14th Feb for !

George, now a Solicitor Apprentice at Deloitte, will share his journey from Eltham College to law and talk about degree apprenticeships as a post-18 pathway. 👏

This year, our students have once again demonstrated their outstanding computational thinking skills in the Bebras Challenge.

This international competition encourages problem-solving and logical thinking, and our students have achieved exceptional results, significantly outperforming national averages across all year groups. From Year 3 to Year 12, our students have shown their ability to think logically, solve problems creatively, and perform at the highest levels.

Congratulations to all participants on their incredible achievements. We look forward to seeing even more success next year!

Bebras Computing Challenge Success at Eltham College This 2024, Eltham College students have once again demonstrated their outstanding computational thinking skills in the Bebras Challenge.

See some of our favourite moments from last week, when our Year 5 pupils took on their first-ever Shakespeare plays: Twelfth Night, A Winter’s Tale, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Yesterday was a fantastic day for girls’ hockey at Eltham College! 🏑

Our U12A team made history as they entered the Tier 1 competition for the first time since introducing girls into Year 7 in 2020, and secured a spot in the London Finals on 13th March after two brilliant wins.

Not to be outdone, the U12B team also qualified for the Tier 2 Finals, finishing as runners-up.

A fantastic testament to the incredible talent and progress of girls’ hockey at the school! Well done everyone! 🎉

Congratulations to our Year 10 student Raf, who has been selected for the England U16 hockey squad!

An incredible achievement that reflects his hard work and determination. From starting hockey in our Junior School to representing the 1st XI as a Year 9 last year, we’re very proud and can’t wait to see him thrive on the international stage. 👏

Once again, the St Cecilia Concert proved to be a musical highlight of the year - made even more special as it was our first joint venture with Blackheath Prep School.

Pupils beyond Grade 5 showcased their talents, with Year 3s performing alongside Year 6s for the first time. An incredible evening of music! 🎶

A proud moment for Eltham rugby as our players continue to reach new heights:

🏉 Tom (Year 11) has been selected to represent Saracens U16 in a December fixture against South Africa’s Paarl Boys High School.

🏉 Brandon (Year 12) has been retained by the Saracens U17 squad after a series of impressive 1st XV performances.

🏉Anthony, Jayden, Alex, and Joe (Year 10) have been selected for the Saracens U15 Foundation Phase while Ramsey (Year 10) has been chosen to join Harlequins for the same programme.

Congratulations to all on these well-deserved opportunities! 👏

Our Year 9 students recently spent a day at Imperial College London, learning all about AI.

Led by Professor Oren Kurland, they discovered how AI shapes everything from Netflix recommendations to self-driving cars and its potential to transform healthcare, education, and sustainability.

As one student said: "It felt like stepping into the future!" 🚀
