Local Green Points The Local Green Points scheme's primary objective is to increase landfill diversion.

We work with local authorities and key local partners to provide a range of incentives to stimulate a shift in behaviour. For residents, Local Green Points is an opt-out scheme meaning that the value of rewards is calculated on an average per household basis across the entire area taking part, although residents do need to register in order to redeem their rewards. I Sweden this week. Recycling here is so efficient. All supermarkets, even the small local shops have reverse vending machines that everybody seems all too willing to use. Mind you, they've been doing it for 40 plus years so guess they should have got it right by now!
