Over the holidays we would like to share student work focused in London. At studio we dedicate the first weeks of the course to study locations in london to help students get familiar to the city, their colleagues and discover our design methodology. This post show examples of London.Stations. Spring.2022 students focused their research on two vibrant areas in London by looking at the paths that connect two main transport nodes to two cultural hubs: Waterloo to Southbank, Charring Cross to Trafalgar Square. The students have drawn these areas, including buildings and public realm, through their physical and material qualities as well as their intangible and performative qualities. run by and teaching team .de.m

The AA Autumn Semester Programme 2024 VENICE. ECO HERITAGE will run in London from Monday 9th February to Friday 13 December.
Venice is facing critical environmental challenges that are directly related to the vocation and urban structure of the island and its relation to adjacent territory. Amidst flooding, subsidence and pollution lay challenges to protect environment, local communities, and cultural heritage.
Students will explore how to preserve the character of the place while promoting sustainable tourism and urban solutions that can preserve natural resources and ecosystems while providing economic opportunities to the local community.
We will look into the municipality initiatives of investing in renewable energy sources, promoting sustainable mobility, and preserving the city’s cultural heritage to propose urban strategies and architectural opportunities. Participants in the Autumn Semester Programme 2024 will examine the environmental and the functional, the architectural and landscape typologies by analysing both tangible and intangible conditions of the context. Each student will develop their own brief to target specific design challenges that promote sustainable initiatives that foster Venice 2030 Sustainable. team .de.m
