Who we are and Our goals
Ignite peers is a sole trader organisation. Ignite peers started in 2011. More young people are engaging other young people to claim a stake and have a say where they live and the projects or schools they attend. We have a range of facilitators and youth worker working with us.
Our goals: To sparkle young lives. To engage and encourage children and young people to become involved in issues that concerns them and be more active citizens in their communities. Training and support for young people to become active citizens.
We aim to have a significant impact on the lives and aspirations of young people, and to give them a voice in the UK and around the world.
Ignite peers has worked with of young people from the ages of 8 to 21. Ignite peers are trained and experienced in engaging with young people. Our way of working is hands-on, interactive and creative. In east London, we work with young people – in secondary schools, FE colleges, youth clubs and youth projects.
We aim to work with children & young people and help develop tools for life.
Our offers
Ignite Peers can offer the following training and support for young people to become active citizens. We can also design new programme to fit your specific needs:
Mentoring training: Peer mentoring training: We can offer training for primary pupils from year 5 & 6 to secondary pupil’s year 10 &11 , 6th forms and Adults to support pupils or students in the lower years e.g. help develop role models, support network for pupils in the school, could help with school work and show leadership skills.
Youth Activities: We help to create and run a place where young people can go to meet other young people, play games, sports and do other social learning activities eg- workshops Asb, gangs, law and youth, filming and etc creative media.
Peer education: We can provide effective citizenship classes for young people on different topics relating to politics, aspiration, employability, talent, education, behaviour, Drugs awareness and etc.
Peer research and consultation: We can offer training for young people in various peer research and consultation methods. We can also support young people to design and deliver their own peer research and consultation projects.
Participation: We can develop participation projects such as school councils, estate youth forums to empower young people to be effective citizens in schools and communities.
Developing school play ground buddies: We can train young people in school to help make their school playground and around their school safe, fun and comfortable for every student.
Developing student inspections: We can train young people with the skills they need to inspect their own school or college, including classroom observations and peer interviewing. Our student inspections focus on issues around learning and aspirations. We can help develop and support a student inspection that suits the needs of the particular school.
Talents: We can help young people’s discover, activate and nurture there talents and gifts.
