First Minister-Designate of Northern Ireland and Vice President of republican party, Sinn Fein, Michelle O’Neill will attend the King’s Coronation!
Years ago, it would have been unthinkable for an Irish republican to be present at such an event that is steeped in monarchism.
This is very welcomed and we owe a lot of this to Queen Elizabeth II and her historic state visit to Ireland in June 2011 which was a game-changer, signalling a new era in Anglo-Irish relations.
Speaking after the sad passing of Her late Majesty, the Sinn Fein leader stated: "She [The Queen] played a great role here in terms of reconciliation and building our peace”.

She is remembered by millions for not only her unprecedented reign and the era she bought with her, but for her personal self - a kind, caring, and graceful woman.

Their Majesties The King and Queen Consort were at York earlier today for the annual Maundy Service.
The Maundy Service happens each year on the Thursday before Easter Sunday. This year The King undertook his first Maundy Service as Monarch at York Minster.

Designed by Andrew Jamieson, the invitation features the motif of the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.

On the first anniversary of the war in Ukraine, His Majesty The King has praised the people of Ukraine for their courage and determination against Putin’s aggression:
"Ukraine has suffered unimaginably from an unprovoked full-scale attack on their nation," he said in a statement.
"It is heartening that the United Kingdom, along with its allies, is doing everything possible to help at this most difficult time.
"Therefore, I can only hope the outpouring of solidarity from across the globe may bring not only practical aid, but also strength from the knowledge that, together, we stand united."
