First Year at the AA is the initial stage in a five-year course of study that leads to the AA Diploma.

FIRST YEAR COMPETITION. AUDIENCE PRIZE!
Students submitted their entries for rebriefing the fun palace for London (Lea Valley or Tottenham Court Road) in the near future.
This is the competition that got the audience prize (the vote from anyone across the school that came in, saw all entries and voted without any need of verbal explanation). Thanks to everyone that came in!

First Year show on a 2weeks exercise on rebriefing unbuilt projects by reimagining for the near future. Lots of moving with Liam and Vid’s group where drawings are open up and perform. And more moving with Michela and Vid’s group where elements reconfigure with movement the different spaces.

FY Review on a 4-weeks brief on composition, form and spatial qualities. Michela’s group redesigned given case studies of one-room spaces from Lina Bo Bardi’s museum to the San Siro stadium and others, by exploring compression and openness of their envelopes. Digital modelling and simulations where used to test spatial qualities.
