We were delighted to welcome local elected MP for Kensington & Bayswater, Joe Powell MP, for a special educational visit. Mr Powell joined us for an assembly where he spoke about what everyday life is like as an MP, including the responsibilities, routines, and teamwork involved in representing a community.

Our pupils had the chance to ask thoughtful questions, such as, ‘how many MPs there are, what the job involves, and how decisions are made?’ They also shared their own ideas about positive changes they would like to see in the local area, which led to a lively and inspiring discussion about active citizenship. The session focused on understanding how Parliament works and encouraging the boys to think about community engagement.

It was a wonderful opportunity for us all to learn more about public service and the importance of contributing to the world around them. Especially lovely to introduce Mr Powell to our own pupil parliament representatives: our Prime Minister, Deputy, Treasurer, Ministers for Sport, Art, Wellbeing, Health and Education!

Just before half term break, our whole community gathered together in our garden to participate in our Wetherby Kensington International Day - a new tradition in its second year that is fast becoming our favourite!

We were incredibly proud to have 15 countries represented across the school, truly reflecting and celebrating the vibrant and diverse culture of our community. The day was a wonderful success and provided such a valuable opportunity for our students to learn more about different countries, traditions and cultures from around the world.

We would especially like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the parents and families who contributed so much time, effort and care to make the event so memorable. From the incredible traditional dress displays to the amazing variety of food on offer, it was clear how much thought and preparation had gone into the day. We all thoroughly enjoyed tasting the delicious food, exploring different cultural traditions and sharing in the experiences that make our community so special. Parents truly went above and beyond, and it really showed throughout the day.

What a busy month May has been!

Year 3 embraced their much‑anticipated PGL: a 2-night residential trip, diving into three days of challenge, teamwork and outdoor fun.

They began by exploring local wildlife and learning key survival skills, before enjoying a hearty dinner and a classic campfire complete with songs and marshmallows. Day two brought rock climbing, a thrilling vertical challenge, and their first taste of archery, where they showed impressive focus and determination. The trip ended on a high (literally!) with an exhilarating zipline ride.

We could not be prouder of Year 3, who demonstrated outstanding camaraderie, bravery, resilience and reliability during their adventure - they were truly Wetherby ambassadors throughout! Memories to last a lifetime.

The culmination of our entrepreneurship initiative ended today in a hugely successful Makers Market!

Slime, donuts, bracelets, cookies, and mystery boxes brought in over £2000 for our selected charity . Our pupils excelled in their meticulous planning, cost analysis, salesmanship and mathematical calculations.

We couldn’t be prouder. A huge thank you to our parents for their support!

From September 2027, Wetherby Preparatory School and Wetherby School Kensington will begin an exciting, phased transition to co-education, becoming Wetherby Pembridge Prep and Wetherby Pembridge Pre-Prep.

This milestone marks significant progress in the continued development of the Wetherby Pembridge Journey, creating a seamless 2-18 pathway.

“The launch of Wetherby Pembridge School has been a tremendous success and reflects strong demand from families for a premium co-educational journey,” said Ashley Harrold, UK CEO of Inspired Education Group. “This next step allows us to build on that success, creating a seamless pathway defined by continuity, choice and academic excellence.”

For more than 75 years, Wetherby School and Pembridge Hall have been recognised for their academic excellence and for nurturing confident, capable learners who go on to achieve outstanding success. This development builds on that heritage while ensuring the Wetherby schools continue to evolve to meet the needs of future generations of pupils and families.

For families who prefer single-sex education, Wetherby School Notting Hill, Wetherby Senior School and Pembridge Hall School will continue to operate as single-sex schools.

We look forward to welcoming the next generation of Wetherby pupils to a connected, future-focused learning journey.

A huge congratulations to all our 2026 leavers on their fantastic results this year! We are so proud to celebrate another record-breaking number of offers from some of the most prestigious schools in the country. An outstanding achievement for a truly remarkable, 7+ and 8+ cohorts.

Ms Playford said, "We are always incredibly proud of what our leavers achieve, and this year has been no exception. Our boys have achieved exceptional outcomes across the board, securing places at leading day schools through the 7+ and 8+ routes, as well as moving on to our own Prep School, Wetherby. All of the boys have worked tremendously hard to achieve these results, and they should be hugely proud of themselves."
