happy earth day!
our weekday groups have started back in the forest today after the spring holidays.
to celebrate, we are sharing this song from , the musical brainchild of kin's rosalyn, which she will singing with participants in the forest this term.
one of the primary ways we connect with nature at kin is through story and song as well as direct connection with the earth through lots of clay and mud play. there is no better way to create a relationship with the earth through hands-on contact with the soil. the benefits extend way beyond this too from nervous system regulation to gut health.
our vision for connecting londoners with nature is not only for personal wellbeing but to inspire sustainable action to protect and steward the environment both locally and globally for the generations to come.

it's snowdrop season! snowdrops herald the very beginning of spring. after a deep winter of rest, we are following in the flower-steps of all the new season's bulbs as they push up from underneath the earth and bloom about ground. this week we have been busy in preparation to begin back in the forest next week. we start with our team skillshare and then four days of winter camp (there are a couple of places still available if anyone would like to join).
we look forward to seeing you in the forest at some point in 2025.
spring wishes,
kin team

what a special time we had at our may eve gathering, celebrating the peak of spring and the very beginnings of summer, drawing on the ancient origins of the celtic nature-based festival ‘beltane’ (meaning ‘bright fire’) among the trees with storytelling & live music performed by crafts, fire, ceremony and festivities.
thank you to for co-creating it with us, to for the delicious flapjack, for the plank seating, for the photography, for all the help on the day and to the very many other heads, hands and hearts that were involved in making this event possible.
'it was magical day. you and so many other people created true experience for the community that left me in tears. may this new moon we plant seeds of many celebrations like this that fills heart with love and joy instantly!"

happy samhain/celtic new year everyone!
this time last year we were gathered with our kinship among the trees with storytelling, live music, crafts, fire ceremony and festivities. harking back to the original celtic festival of samhain (meaning 'summer's end' and out of which came halloween), we explored some of the deeper meanings of this time of year; the transition from the light to the dark phase of the year, energy becoming more internal and restful in preparation for winter’s dormancy, honouring those who have passed, letting go of that which no longer serves us...
