🚴🏾‍♂️ BMX is now part of our PE curriculum at Arco Academy.

In partnership with our students are getting the chance to ride and develop their skills at one of London’s top BMX tracks.

The programme is supported by Peckham’s own Tre Whyte 🇬🇧 — former Team GB BMX rider, 2014 World Championship bronze medallist 🥉 and British National Champion — inspiring the next generation both on and off the track.

A lively day at the Damilola Taylor Centre! We mixed leadership talk with getting to know each other properly, then jumped straight into memory games, pool showdowns, table tennis rallies and some competitive badminton. Good vibes, loud laughs and lots of teamwork. ✨🏓🎱🏸

Our students took part in a powerful workshop by exploring the heritage and symbolism of handmade beadwork — learning the meanings behind traditional patterns and colours and how creativity can express strength and resilience.

The session also included an inclusive dance movement segment, designed to be accessible, uplifting and welcoming to all participants.

They created a beautiful Tree of Roots, adding leaves with their heritage flags, a powerful symbol of unity, culture and pride. 🌿💛

Our students had an incredible day at the Damilola Taylor Centre, filled with energy, laughter and friendly competition. From quick-fire table tennis rallies to intense pool games and lively football matches, everyone got involved and showed great teamwork and spirit.

It was more than just play. It was about connection, confidence and community. 💫
