πβ¨ The Year 6 production of Matilda The Musical JR. has been a joyful celebration of creativity, confidence and collaboration at Wimbledon High School.
Working alongside trained professionals, such as choreographer Rebecca Allingham and director Emily Plumtree, our pupils embraced every aspect of the rehearsal process, developing their performance skills while bringing this much-loved story to life on stage.
From energetic dance numbers to memorable character performances, the production showcased the talent, dedication and enthusiasm of our Year 6 girls. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved and grateful to the staff, creative team and families who supported them throughout the journey.
π Congratulations to all involved in this fantastic production.

Throwback to a fantastic evening of collaboration and live music!
Our musicians joined forces with students from Rutlish School and the incredible Blues and Roots Ensemble for a memorable jazz performance celebrating the music of Charles Mingus and other greats.
Experiences like these showcase the power of partnership in music education, bringing students together, building confidence, and creating opportunities to learn from exceptional musicians.
Weβre proud to offer opportunities that connect our students with the wider musical community. πΆ

What does it mean to be a GDST English student?
This week, our Year 12 students joined peers from across the GDST at the English Symposium hosted by Wimbledon High School for a day of thought-provoking discussion, creativity and intellectual exploration.
Students heard from keynote speakers Professor John Mullan and Barbara Bleiman before taking part in breakout sessions exploring Black Writing and Urban Space, Shakespearean Critics, Literary Theory and Creative Writing.
A particular highlight of the day was the student panel debate, where four students from across the GDST shared their perspectives, challenged ideas and demonstrated the confidence, curiosity and critical thinking that define a GDST education.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to such an inspiring day of scholarship and conversation.

What does the future of AI mean for education?
That was the question at the heart of a fascinating AI event held at Wimbledon High School this week.
We were thrilled to welcome Daniel Hulme from WPP, alongside Deputy Head of Academic and Innovation, Ferdinand Doepel, our Head Girl, and a Sixth Form Computer Science student, for an engaging discussion about how artificial intelligence is changing the world around us.
From the opportunities AI creates to the importance of critical thinking, ethics and responsible use, the panel explored how schools can help young people navigate this rapidly evolving landscape with confidence.
At Wimbledon High School, we are committed to ensuring our students are not only technologically fluent, but also thoughtful, reflective and prepared to lead in a future where human creativity and judgement matter more than ever.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the conversation.

It has been a week of laughter, nostalgia and a hint of sadness at Wimbledon High as Y13 students spent their last full week before going on study leave. And they certainly made the most of it!
Highlights of the week - numerous 'dress up' days, farewell lunches for our 'Lifers' (girls who have been with us all the from 4- 18) and the Unconquered Peaks editorial team (our student-led magazine) and a nostalgic yeargroup photo in their old school uniform!
And of course it was a great excuse for themed cupcakes.....π§
Today we shared a special final moment together with a Y13 rendition of 'So Long, Farewell' from The Sound of Music at our regular Friday Jamminβ musical get-togther. πΆπ
Good luck, Class of 2026! Thank you for being a brilliant yeargroup and we will miss you! π
