Giros and sacadas—two beautiful elements that can create endless possibilities in tango ✨

This video is from one of our recent classes, where we explored giros with sacadas and looked at ways of chaining multiple giros together, finishing with a sacada. The focus was on maintaining fluidity, timing, and connection while creating dynamic circular movement.

Rather than thinking of these as isolated figures, we explored the principles that allow movements to flow naturally from one idea to the next, creating a dance that feels continuous, musical, and enjoyable for both partners.

We'll be continuing to develop these ideas in this week's classes, so if you'd like to explore them further, we'd love to see you there.

This video is from one of last week's classes, where we explored the concept of spirals and how they can be applied to movements such as planeos, calesitas, and other circular dynamics within the dance.

By understanding how the body generates and releases rotational energy, movements can become more fluid, expressive, and connected. It's often these underlying principles that transform the quality of the dance far more than any individual figure.

The cross is one of the most iconic movements in tango—but there are countless ways to arrive there ✨

In this class, we explored interesting and subtle options for entering crosses, focusing on the small details that make the lead feel clear, comfortable, and musical.

Rather than relying on a single method, we looked at different pathways into the cross, discovering how changes in timing, direction, and intention can create a variety of possibilities while maintaining a natural flow within the embrace.

Sometimes the most rewarding discoveries in tango come from revisiting familiar movements and uncovering new layers within them.

A small change in the lead can create a completely different experience for both partners 💃🕺

Sometimes the smallest details create the biggest differences in tango ✨

In this class, we explored the nuances within crosses and how subtle changes in timing, intention, and technique can open up a variety of possibilities in the dance.

We also looked at some interesting changes of direction after crosses, discovering how a familiar movement can become the starting point for something completely unexpected and musical. And of course, we finished by putting these ideas together into a cool sequence that was both fun and challenging to dance 😉

The goal wasn't just to learn a pattern, but to understand the principles behind it—so that these ideas can be adapted and used creatively on the social dance floor.

Tango is often at its most exciting when simple movements reveal new possibilities 💃🕺
