PRESS RELEASE

''World Sindhi Congress Condemns Brutal State Terror and Repression Against the People of Kashmir''

World Sindhi Congress unequivocally condemns the brutal killings, violent crackdowns, and systematic repression unleashed upon the people of Kashmir by Pakistani security forces and state authorities. The firing on unarmed civilians, suppression of peaceful demonstrations, arbitrary arrests, and the ban imposed on the Awami Action Committee are blatant acts of state violence and grave violations of fundamental human rights and democratic freedoms.

These atrocities once again expose the hypocrisy behind Pakistan’s long-standing propaganda surrounding so-called “Azad Kashmir.” No land can be called “free” when its people are silenced at gunpoint, denied their democratic rights, criminalised for dissent, and punished for demanding justice, dignity, and basic freedoms.

For decades, the Pakistani establishment has relied on militarisation, intimidation, enforced disappearances, censorship, and political repression to maintain the dominance of the Punjabi military elite over historically oppressed nations, including Sindhis, Baloch, Pashtuns, Gilgit-Baltistan communities, and the people of Kashmir. The current violence in Kashmir is not an isolated incident, it is part of a broader pattern of colonial-style occupation and authoritarian control exercised by the Pakistani state against subjugated nations.

World Sindhi Congress firmly believes that no state can sustain legitimacy through bullets, bans, fear, and bloodshed. History has repeatedly proven that oppression breeds resistance, and that the voices of oppressed nations cannot be permanently silenced through violence and coercion.

We also call upon those political parties, organisations, and activists who have historically raised slogans of “Kashmir solidarity” to break their silence and condemn the atrocities now being committed by the Pakistani state against the Kashmiri people themselves. Selective outrage and political silence in the face of state brutality amount to complicity.

World Sindhi Congress stands in unwavering solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir and fully supports their fundamental rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, political participation, human dignity, and self-determination in accordance with international law.

We urgently call upon the United Nations, international human rights organisations, democratic governments, and global civil society to launch an independent investigation into the recent violence in Kashmir and hold the perpetrators accountable for crimes against civilians and violations of human rights.

The international community must not remain silent while peaceful voices are crushed through state terror.

Punjabi supremacy is unacceptable.
State violence is unacceptable.
Collective punishment is unacceptable.
Human rights violations are unacceptable.
