𝗚𝗮𝗿𝘆 "𝗚𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗮" 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗜 is a founding member of the 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗶 fraternity in London. While studying Digital Marketing at Richmond American University in London, Gary's true passion lies on the football pitch ⚽️, where he's a Level D certified FIFA coach. His experience spans all age groups, and he's constantly striving to develop his coaching skills, currently aiming for his Level C certification.

Gary explains, "from my perspective, joining Sigma Chi offers a 'next-level' student experience beyond academics and clubs. When I learned about Sigma Chi's plans to establish a chapter in London, I had to check it out. Every aspect of my Sigma Chi journey has solidified my decision."

He's proud to be a founding brother and looks forward to contributing to the fraternity's legacy in the UK.

The recruitment program in London, England, is making great strides. Our initial group of candidates has asked us to extend the recruitment period so they can include some of their friends in the first Founders Pledge Class.

As one of the fraternity’s highest honours, the Significant Sig Award recognizes those alumni members whose exemplary achievements in their fields of endeavour have brought great honour and prestige to the name of Sigma Chi.

Significant Sig Seán O’Dowd, BRITISH COLUMBIA-SIMON FRASER 1998, CFA spent 13 years at Bessemer Trust, where he helped create Bessemer Trust’s Family Company Advisory Group. He has also worked in investment banking within Lehman Brothers’ Power Group and done corporate finance and valuation work at Ernst & Young and KPMG. Brother O’Dowd holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Irish American Writers & Artists, where he serves as Treasurer, as well as a North American Ambassador for the Celtic FC Foundation, where he is part of the Founders Club.

As much as I cherish the memories with my fellow brothers over the years, this is only surpassed by what I have been able to contribute to the various organizations and organizations I have been honoured to have been associated with since graduating.”

Sigma Chi is the second-largest international fraternity in the world. Since 1855, we’ve developed over 370,000+ initiated members across 243 chapters at universities and colleges across North America into leaders of men. In 1855, seven young men, Benjamin Piatt Runkle, Thomas Cowan Bell, William Lewis Lockwood, Isaac M. Jordan, Daniel William Cooper, Franklin Howard Scobey and James Parks Caldwell, wanted something better in a fraternity during their collegiate experience, and from that recognition, a dream was born — the fraternity of Sigma Chi.

Our seven Founders recognized that a principle-driven lifestyle should be paramount in an individual’s lifelong quest to achieve progressive development and that the world in which they lived had a great need for ethical leaders whose core principles were based on the possession of remarkable character.

Their dream was simple — to enhance the leadership abilities of men by refining their character through the framework of Friendship, Justice and Learning — our three guiding principles.

Seven young men set the foundation for a lifelong course of development that has since provided more than 300,000 men with the structure to understand how to positively influence the world.

The ranks of Sigma Chis now include titans of industry, celebrities, political leaders, husbands, fathers, brothers and many more. Each member brings so many different characteristics to the world, yet we all bring the same endowment of character that our world so badly needs today.

In partnership with the Sigma Chi London alumni chapter, Sigma Chi International Fraternity is exploring the possibility of establishing an interest group that would make Sigma Chi one of the world's only intercontinental collegiate Greek-letter fraternities.
