Great news. Through Co-op, Daughter Arise has raised £248.00 so far. Not quite the £2000.00 I wanted to raise but there is still time to achieve it as the second round of fundraising is until November. The 248.00 in part, will help pay for leaflets, hall hire, and a guest activity leader, and I plan to do a mini afternoon Tea event in September at the hall where the support group is held. It will be a workshop/survivor speaker event and will be on a Saturday in September. I will let you know more about it nearer the time. Please share the link if you have not already with anyone you know to donate. Thank you

The next support group is in May and we will be meeting face to face again rather than online. Going forward the group will alternate between the two. I am looking forward to meeting up again!

The support group is on Wednesday 9th March 7.30pm- 9.15pm via zoom. This month we will be discussing boundaries. Are boundaries good or bad? are they an important part of self-preservation? What are the challenges of establishing boundaries? I would love to have a discussion about it. Also, we will look at ways to set boundaries with ourselves and people. If you are new and would like to come email me at [email protected]

It was a great honour as always to speak with Early Years Foundation degree Students at Morley College (formerly Kensington and Chelsea College) last Thursday. This is my third time being invited as a speaker. We talked about the impact of childhood trauma and I shared my story of how my experiences influenced and shaped my early years and life. Even though I have overcome my abuse I am glad I can use my story and the things that I have learned to empower those who work with children. I also did a book signing. It was a good evening.
