TAR Field Guide - The Susanna Wesley Foundation A new fieldguide to Theological Action Research is available now, offering practical guidance, exercises, and experiential vignettes.

On November 19th, we proudly hosted the ‘Celebration of Methodist Education’ conference in partnership with Methodist Schools, with over 70 education professionals, chaplains, and school leaders registered. The event featured inspiring keynotes from Rachel Johnson and Gary Aubin, interactive workshops, musical demonstrations, and reflections on faith, inclusion, and hope in education from many other contributors.

Celebration of Methodist Education - The Susanna Wesley Foundation We hosted a ‘Celebration of Methodist Education’ with Methodist Schools, joining educators, chaplains, and leaders for an eventful day.

We were grateful to organise and facilitate a seminar and roundtable discussion on Challenging the Extractive Economy on Nov 6 at the University of Roehampton. We appreciated rich contributions from Prof Lans Bovenberg, Prof Steven van den Heuvel, Hannah Fremont-Brown, Revd Dr Hector Laporta and Dr Anupama Ranawana, along with many others in the roundtable. The event was held in collaboration with USPG - United Society Partners in the Gospel and also featured a display by Operation Noah.

Value, Neurodiversity and Education: SWF in Rome - The Susanna Wesley Foundation SWF was pleased to join Cristina Gangemi in Rome for an international conference on Edith Stein and the value of all human beings.

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Research Officer to join our team at an exciting time for the Susanna Wesley Foundation.

Specifically, the SWF is looking for a theologically literate researcher who has experience in conducting research and evaluations in faith-related contexts. Projects will focus largely on qualitative participatory research, with a view to understanding, and impacting on, practice; we therefore welcome applications from those who combine research capability with practitioner experience, and/or those who have successfully conducted theological action research. Expertise in practical theology would be particularly welcome as would a passion for enabling flourishing, inclusion and positive change.

We prize collaborative working and relational approaches so the role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships and participating in conversations to generate learning and understanding. The role includes some administrative elements alongside the opportunities to exercise research skills.

This week we were delighted to welcome Hilde-Marie Øgreid and Kari Hay, our first Susanna Wesley Fellows. They are researching and writing a book on Methodist Theology for use in theological colleges in Norway. Emma Pavey enjoyed filming a fruitful conversation (which will appear shortly) between Hilde-Marie, Kari and Beverley Clack, who kindly travelled down from Oxford, and we also enjoyed being joined by Christopher Stephens, Sue Miller and Jonathan Dean for lunch.

We’re pleased to promote this year's series of online lectures arranged by the Methodist-related Schools in Europe (MTSE). The theme this year is “Climate Justice? Theological, Spiritual, Political and Practical Dimensions” and the first lecture is on October 14, 2025.

Pleased to catch up on two research projects supported by SWF and Southlands Methodist Trust: at the University of Roehampton, Dr Maria Gudbrandsen and Dr Michelle Jayman talked about their resources co-developed with children and young people with 22q deletion syndrome.
