😄 Today, across all platforms, it's day - a day to celebrate the inspiring side of social media platforms.

We know that social media can be negative. Let’s change this with just a few fantastic stories of what a positive impact have had on their communities recently:

1️⃣ Older people in Newcastle, living with poor health and mobility issues, will be able to meet friends, have a freshly cooked meal, and do their shopping, thanks to a £45,000 grant from Northumberland Freemasons

2️⃣ A Basildon based charity, dedicated to creating the best start in life for disadvantaged children and young people, is ready to create its own “chill zones” to provide vital respite and support for hundreds of parents and carers across south Essex, thanks to a £14,874 grant from Essex Freemasons

3️⃣ For the second year running, Poole Freemasons have collected donations for local food banks. This Christmas five full car-loads were donated to Poole food bank. The cars were so jam-packed that there was only space left for the driver!

4️⃣ In March last year, the Masonic Charitable Foundation awarded the Birmingham Children's Hospital £50,000 to support the vital work of the hospital play team. Children who are happy and relaxed cope better with treatment and recover more quickly than those who are upset and anxious, which is why the play team is such a special and integral part of the hospital family.

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, which commemorates the day the largest N**i Extermination Camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was liberated by Soviet Forces on 27th January 1945.⁠

We share this poem written by Czech Jewish poet on thin copy paper while he was held in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp in 1942. He was deported and murdered in Auschwitz in 1944. This poem was found after the liberation. ⁠
