Excelsior Academy

Well done to the Year 7 Eco Club, who have put in a tremendous amount of effort into planting a variety of fruits and vegetables and revitalising the planter beds in our main reception area.

Through this project, students have gained valuable knowledge about conservation, sustainability, and the many career opportunities available within the environmental sector. Their dedication and enthusiasm have made a real difference to our school environment, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.

Ahead of prelims, all Year 12 students have received a fully stocked pencil case to help them feel prepared and organised for the assessment period.

National Thank a Teacher Day 2026

Students across The Excelsior Academy took the time to recognise and thank the members of staff who have supported, encouraged and inspired them throughout the year.

Our display board quickly filled with hundreds of heartfelt messages, with many more cards being delivered directly to staff across the academy.

The kind words shared by our students are a powerful reminder of the positive impact that every member of staff has on young people each day.

Thank you to all of our teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral staff, administration teams, site staff, catering teams and support staff for everything you do.

A small act of appreciation can make a big difference.

Year 9 Science students visited King’s College Hospital for a hands-on dentistry experience.

They explored careers within dentistry, different entry routes and gained insight into the skills required in the field.

They also took part in a surgical task, giving them a real taste of working in a clinical environment.

Next week, The Excelsior Academy will be celebrating National Thank a Teacher Day – an opportunity to recognise the dedication, care and commitment of the staff who make a difference to our students every day.

Year 9 students were rewarded with an all-expenses-paid trip to O2 Activate, thanks to the support of Inspire Charity.

Throughout the year, students have taken part in Inspire’s Career Readiness Programme, developing valuable skills, building confidence, and exploring future career opportunities. Their commitment and engagement have been recognised with this fantastic experience.

Excelsior Academy Radio 08/06/2026 We kicked off our Year 9 Radio Programme today with the launch of our first complete radio show.

A huge well done to our students who achieved 100% attendance this term.

As a special reward for their outstanding commitment and dedication to school, they were invited to our Ice Cream Celebration.
