LSE Korea Future Association presents its first completely in-person event “Life as a North Korean Refugee.”

As our committee members have felt while attending as guests at the "North and South Korean Women Speak of Peace" event co-hosted by the Korean Embassy, personally engaging with North Korean individuals who have escaped the inhumane DPRK regime and hearing their stories give a whole new perspective— a refreshing, but also heartbreaking one— to the important discourse on North Korea, refugees, and reunification.

Our speaker, Park Jihyun is looking forward to sharing her personal story escaping North Korea twice and her experience working to further the cause of North Korean human rights working with organisations such as the United Nations and the European Commission. Starting with an outlining of her origins and background, she will present her experiences settling in to the UK as a refugee and getting into activism. The event will wrap up with a Q&A session for a valuable insights into a topic that is often politicized but not as often shown so personally.

Please sign up at https://linktr.ee/lsesukfa to attend the event!
Hope to see you there for a fruitful discussion!
