Our session on the 2nd June marked our 6th Legal Advice Clinic. We have hit some bumps in the road but we are still here, servicing the community as best we can, and working hard to improve ourselves.
As we enter the second half of the year, myself and the team at Young Lawyers Association will continue to work tirelessly to hit goals we have set for ourselves and for YLA!

Today we are our own !
On 4th December we will be launching our free Legal advice clinic, where we will be advising members of the community on Immigration, Family, and Criminal Law. In summer of 2019, we will be launching our work experience for BaME law students. Finally, in the early months of next year, we will be opening a second legal advice clinic with a specific focus on BaME mental health services.
We are so excited to provide these services and partnering with other amazing organisations that will advance success for BaME law students, and BaME mental health residents.
Please direct all queries to [email protected] and [email protected]

Today is Mental Health Day!
As the social, political and economic climate across the globe remains incredibly concerning and volatile, it is cruicial everyone does their part to help when they can.
Take time and check on yourself, and those you care about. Mental health impacts different people in different ways, and sometimes symptoms aren’t as apparent as those we search for.
Mental health is an incredibly delicate subject, and we are super proud and excited about the work we will be doing in 2019 to support members of the BaME community living with mental health.

2nd week of black history month our shout out goes to this amazing young lady! You don’t have to be rich or famous to make a difference. Marley Davis is a 13 year old girl who launched a campaign known as . Her book drive focuses on books black girls are the main characters. Her campaign has raised awareness at the lack of diversity in young children’s literature. We can only imagine what the future has in store for her.
We salute you!

There has been a female majority on a UK Supreme Court panel hearing for the first time ever! Congratulations to them all! This shows how far we have come, but more importantly, it highlights just how far we still to go.
