✨ Reflecting on VFP Strategy Day 2026: Building a Sustainable Future Together! ✨

This past Saturday, 13 June, the Vietnamese Family Partnership (VFP) team of staff, volunteers, Board of Trustees, and partners spent a highly productive day aligning our vision for the next three years.

We want to extend a massive thank you to our expert facilitator, Uday Thakkar from Red Ochre (Delivery Partner for the British Library Business & IP Centre), for leading an exceptional governance training session. Uday challenged us to look closely at our strengths, navigate macro risks, and transition seamlessly from a grassroots model to a robust, formal community partner.

During the afternoon, our CEO led two critical strategy conversations focused on:
1️⃣ Practical Delivery Requirements: Safeguarding our frontline staff and volunteers against burnout by mapping capacity boundaries, streamlining our digital admin tech via QuickBooks, and transforming our ad-hoc community support into structured, scalable "Service Packages."
2️⃣ Business Planning Input: Moving our Trustees from operational "doing" to strategic executive "steering"—diversifying our funding pipelines through corporate sponsors, partners, and statutory contracts, while creating a "win-win" environment where governing VFP actively builds high-level professional skills for our trustees' own careers.

Heartfelt Thanks from the VFP Team:
We are incredibly grateful for the dedication in the room. Thank you to everyone for giving up your entire Saturday to support VFP's mission. A special mention to Lorie, who travelled a very long way to be with us in London, and to Huyen for managing and organising the day so meticulously.

We also want to express our deep gratitude to Chris Bal for his incredibly generous donation, which funded our professional consultant for this milestone session.

VFP already possesses deep regional credibility and life-saving bilingual expertise. Thanks to this weekend, we now have the unified internal structure to match our growing national footprint! 🌟 Next stop: Our Home Office Roadshows Scotland later this month! and continue to work with Vietnamese community Birmingham and Manchester to connect and share our journey📍

Last week, VFP had the privilege of visiting St Christopher's Hospice to learn more about their compassionate palliative care services and wider community support programmes.

Our community members were introduced to valuable services including wellbeing support, planning ahead, information guidance, and practical advice for families and individuals facing difficult health journeys. For many of our Vietnamese members in London, this was their very first experience learning openly about palliative care and the support available within the UK healthcare and community system.

The visit created meaningful conversations, reduced fears and misunderstandings, and helped raise awareness about the importance of early support, wellbeing, and informed planning for ourselves and our loved ones. Many participants shared that they found the session extremely useful, beneficial, and reassuring.

At VFP, we believe that information sharing and community connection are essential in helping our community feel more confident accessing services that can improve quality of life and emotional wellbeing.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at St Christopher’s for welcoming us so warmly and helping us build stronger understanding within the Vietnamese community in London. Together, we continue creating bridges of support, care, and awareness for our community.

We are incredibly honoured to receive this Certificate of Recognition from and for VFP’s contribution to the Violence Against Women and Girls Grassroots Fund over the past 2 years.

For more than 20 years, VFP has worked closely with the Vietnamese community, supporting women, families, and vulnerable individuals through advocacy, education, wellbeing activities, and community engagement. Our mission has always been to create a safe, connected, and empowered community where every voice is heard and every person feels supported. ❤️

This recognition is not only for VFP as an organisation, but for every volunteer, supporter, partner, and community member who has stood alongside us throughout this journey. Together, we continue to break silence, build confidence, and create positive change for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who believes in our work and continues to support our community. 🌸

At Vietnamese Family Partnership (VFP), we truly value initiatives that celebrate and elevate Vietnamese culture on the global stage. Áo dài is not only a symbol of elegance, but also a powerful expression of identity, heritage, and pride within our community.

It’s inspiring to see such a meaningful event bringing together creativity, culture, and connection — right here in London. We look forward to exploring ways to engage with and support this wonderful celebration of Vietnamese heritage.

Wishing the organising team every success as preparations continue! 🇻🇳✨

Thanks to Sophie and Roxanna from Meet Me at the Albany for visiting our weekly luncheon club. Members had fun making stuff, including knitting and boards...and savoring Bun cha ca.

VFP is delighted to share the success of our second collaboration with King’s College Hospital!

Together, we supported 30 more community members in accessing Hepatitis B & C testing—bringing the total to 67 tests delivered so far. This initiative helps provide peace of mind, with results available in just 15 minutes after testing.

We’re proud of this impactful partnership between our charity and the hospital, working together to improve community health and wellbeing.
