Dear Kelly and Mike Krokonko,
Just returned home from our France and England trip and wanted to share a story. I had planned to take a tribute picture for Adah on the trip because she’s always in our hearts. We went to Covent Garden, an outdoor market in London since 1670, and I found the perfect reminder— a crocheted sunflower and heart. I got chills when I saw it. I proceeded to tell the lady what it was for and she got tears. She said this is my very first day here selling these. A sign from above undoubtedly. I told her she blessed our trip and made the memorable purchase. Then I waited until the perfect place to take a picture with the students, but it rained all night. Wouldn’t you know it— the very first bus stop in the morning was at a sculpture in downtown London called Angel’s Wings. This was just steps down from the Monument to commemorate the Great London Fire. Beauty from ashes I thought. May this picture remind us all that Adah is with us, in our hearts, across the world, everywhere. ❤️🌻
