Year 10 continued their Human Geography enquiry looking at the effects of urban regeneration on 4 contrasting places in Stratford- New Town, East Village, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park itself and Hackney Wick. A fantastic opportunity for students to connect classroom learning to real-world places.

We were pleased to welcome AIM London to deliver two engaging apprenticeship workshops for our students. The sessions provided valuable insight into the application process and assessment centres, helping students understand what employers are looking for while building confidence and key employability skills.
Degree apprenticeships are highly competitive, and opportunities like this play a vital role in preparing students for success. Thank you to AIM London for such an informative experience!

This week, we were delighted to welcome Year 6 students who will be starting with us in September for their Mandarin taster sessions. These sessions give students a taste of what studying Mandarin is like here at St Ignatius and to decide if they want to pursue it when they join us as Year 7 students.
It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, curiosity, and confidence as they tried something completely new. A huge well done to everyone who took part!

Just before half term, the Geography department took over 70 Year 10 students to Epping Forest Field Studies Centre for their physical geography day.
The students spent the day learning about the drainage basin of Debden Brook before going out to investigate how this river changes along its course. Most of the day was spent in the river measuring depth, width and velocity. As usual, we were very well looked after by FSC Epping Forest and the boys enjoyed the day - no doubt the excellent weather had a part to play in this!

This term, we are excited to be running a medical mentoring programme with our Year 12 students interested in pursuing a career in medicine.
A group of St Ignatius alumni, now resident doctors, have put together 2am Medics Mentoring and have returned to St Ignatius to deliver a structured series of interactive workshops. These sessions provide students with a realistic insight into the medical profession, help develop key clinical and communication skills, and support preparation for the UCAT and medical school applications.
We are extremely grateful to our alumni, John-Campbell and Okafor, for generously giving their time and expertise to support and inspire the next generation.
