Charlton Park Academy has spent the past year showing what a truly immersive school day can look like.
Their team uses Magic Room from morning routines right through to structured curriculum lessons, which means pupils experience consistent, meaningful sensory input across the whole timetable.
What stands out is how intentional their approach is. Staff shape each session around calm, predictability and clear cause-and-effect. For pupils with PMLD, SLD and autism, that level of consistency helps reduce anxiety and opens the door to more engagement.
You see it in the small moments: a pupil tracking light for longer than before, a calmer transition between lessons, or a student choosing an activity independently for the first time.
Charlton Park Academy is proving that immersive learning is not an add-on. It is part of how a school culture can evolve when the environment adapts to the learner.
