Carrying the flame! 🔥 This Windrush Day 2026, the University of Greenwich reflects on the legacy of the Windrush Generation — their resilience, contributions, and the lasting impact they continue to have on British society.

Bringing together students from Human Nutrition and Health, Business Management, Food Innovation and PhD programmes, the event challenged participants to develop innovative nutrition-focused products and business strategies in multidisciplinary teams. From concept development to pitching ideas, students gained valuable experience in teamwork, problem-solving, communication and entrepreneurial thinking. The day also included a visit to the Medway Food Innovation Centre, offering further insight into the future of food innovation.

A degree can open the door, but experience is what helps you walk through it! During her BA Accounting and Finance at the University of Greenwich, Teesha Patel chose to take a placement year inside the University’s Alumni and Fundraising Team. That experience gave her a closer look at how finance works in practice, along with the professional skills and confidence that don’t always come from lectures alone.
