Too often I see botanical artwork where people favour the flower and neglect spending time on the stems. Just as you always see excellent leaves in the work of RHS Gold Medallists, the same goes for stems! It’s excellent to see a workshop on this topic!

Jenny Hyde-Johnson (South Africa) last night won BOTH of the top awards at the RHS Botanical Art Show 2026 at the Saatchi Art Gallery in London. Below are my photos of Jenny with her exhibit and receiving the award for Best Exhibit plus - in the comments - a link to my video of her receiving the award for Best Painting.
Titles of her exhibit and painting are captions to the photos.

I had a quick chat with Charlotte Brooks about the double win. I know it hasn't happened since 2007 - and we're both inclined to think it has never happened before. (I’ve since checked and it’s the first time ever!)
