We celebrated Windrush Day today in school. Our Caribbean community of staff and parents cooked a feast of food with an array of tropical fruit for the children and teachers to enjoy. We had a steel band and music to dance to and everyone soaked up the sun and vibes! Thank to everyone who spent the day cooking and chopping fruit with us...its was a very special Friday!

Nowruz mobarak to all our families and staff celebrating!
Nowruz, the Persian New Year, is a 3,000-year-old celebration of spring, rooted in the ancient religion of Zoroastrianism. It begins on the first day of the Iranian calendar, usually on or around 20 March, or Spring Equinox, and lasts for 13 days. With deep reverence for fertility, nature and new beginnings, it’s celebrated by around 300 million people across Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan and Central Asia, as well as in Kurdish, Turkic Uyghur and Parsi communities worldwide.
We were lucky enough to have a parent who built this beautiful Haft Seen table for us in our entrance. Class I have celebrated with the story of Naneh Sarma, Iranian biscuits and jumping over candles!
