Gower Street Memories #3
Continuing our Gower Street Memories series, Alex Friedlen, Student Support Administrator, reflects on a moment that captured the spirit of student engagement and community at the University of Hull London, Gower Street Campus.
"A fond memory of mine was during one of the focus groups I had with the students about future student events at our new campus. This was one of the smaller focus groups, so we got to hang out and chat quite informally about their ideas and their experiences in London. Towards the end of the event we took a photo together to commemorate their contribution to our campus' student life, it was just really nice getting that kind of engagement from our students!" 💙

A campus is more than a building - it’s the people and memories that fill it.
As we move to Stratford, our staff are sharing their favourite Gower Street moments in a special series celebrating the community we’ve built together.
Let’s start with one of the favourite tutors - Shakib ☺️
“As we say goodbye to the LSC- Gower Street campus, I find myself reflecting on many wonderful memories created here. This building was more than just classrooms and offices, it was a place where students grew in confidence, friendships were formed, ideas were shared, and ambitions began to take shape.
Some of my most rewarding moments as an academic happened here, alongside incredible colleagues and inspiring students from around the world. While it is difficult to leave behind a place that has been such an important part of our journey, I am grateful for every experience and every person who made it special.
Thank you, LSC and Gower Street, for the memories. As we move to our new home in Stratford, I look forward to creating many more together and continuing to support the success of our students.
Once part of the journey, always part of the story.”

As enrolment gets underway, Chris Macallister, Dean of the University of Hull London, welcomed students to our new campus at 2 Redman Place.
Located in the heart of Stratford, close to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and excellent transport links, the new campus provides an exciting environment for our growing community of postgraduate students.
With over 1,000 students already part of the University of Hull London journey, we are looking forward to welcoming the next cohort and seeing what they achieve.

Mental wellbeing matters - in the classroom, at work, and in everyday life 💚
This Mental Health Awareness Week, our centres across the world came together to support wellbeing, encourage open conversations, and remind students and staff that taking care of your mental health is important.
Sometimes support looks like checking in with someone.
Sometimes it means taking a break, getting outside, moving your body, or simply giving yourself time to reset.
Small actions can make a big difference 🌍

Recognised by students. Celebrated for impact. 👏
A huge congratulations to Benjamin, who was shortlisted for the University of Hull Students’ Union Student Choice Awards 2026 - awards that recognise staff who go above and beyond to support, inspire, and positively shape the student experience.
What makes these awards meaningful is that they are entirely student-led, with nominations coming directly from students themselves.
A well-deserved recognition for the difference Benjamin continues to make every day. 🎓
