SRS Talent Show 2026 | April π€
π In April, we hosted the first SRS Talent Show. From singers, dancing, musicians and even magic β The SRS Talent Show brings together talented individuals from all year groups, all competing for the prestigious title of SRS Talent of the Year.
β¨ The whole event was organised by our Student Leadership Team, who worked tirelessly over the past few months to audition, prepare and rehearse for the evening.
πͺ© We were joined by LXD on the night, our resident dance troupe - who presented multiple dance intermissions between each of the acts.
π Well done to all of our students who participated, our runners up and our winner - Mia in Year 7!

The end of Year 11 β congratulations and next steps
βI would like to start by congratulating our year 11 students on completing their exams (...or very nearly for those completing their GCSE Spanish tomorrow morning) and reaching the end of Year 11!
For many, there will be a sense of the past five years (or 12 for those who attended SRS primary!) having passed by in a flash. During those five years, we have had the privilege of seeing our Year 11 students grow, mature, discover themselves and discover what they love to learn so that today, they are leaving with dreams and aspirations, hopes and ambitions for what lies ahead.β
- Ms Cross

ποΈ Student Leadership Programme 2025-26
π Our Student Leadership Programme continued last half term, with sessions 3 & 4.
πͺ Throughout the past few sessions, students have been working on their problem solving, teamwork and adaptation skills. Theyβve also been developing their public speaking. Session 3 involved a House Event, and Session 4 looked at innovation and change.
π Weβre running the Bronze and Silver awards simultaneously this year. Session 1 was in introduction into the course, and Session 2 was a closer look at communication and collaboration - hence the tower building challenge!
π Leadership roles are open to every student who is dedicated to the clubs they attend - and the SLP programme is available to all our leaders.
π The last session for this year is NEXT WEEK! This session will be run by our Student Leadership Team, and I f youβre part of the SLP, make sure you come along to celebrate your success!

Duke of Edinburgh - Gold Expedition | June 2026
π₯Ύ Last week, our DofE Gold students embarked on their Gold Expedition in the Peak District.
πͺ As part of their DofE Gold qualification, they need to complete a 4 day, 3 night Expedition, where they must plan, train for, and complete an unaccompanied, self-sufficient journey in a team, navigating and camping outdoors. This is one out of five parts needed to qualify; the other parts including Volunteering, Physical, Skills and a Residential.
π» The practice expedition took them up Mam Tor, a 517m hill and Kinder Scout, a plateau standing 636m tall.
π As they leave for their Qualifier today, we wish them the best of luck, and look forward to hearing about their invitation to Buckingham Palace to collect their Gold awards soon!
