An Evening with Asa Butterfield: Our Hero, Balthazar Screening & Q&A

We're excited to share details of a screening of Our Hero, Balthazar with The Reel Scene community, through a friend of The Reel Scene, Asa Butterfield, taking place on 22 June at 7pm at Picturehouse Central (KIA Screen 2), followed by a live Q&A with Asa and director Oscar Boyson.

Our Hero, Balthazar is an audacious coming-of-age story that explores the impact of social media and American gun culture on modern adolescence through an incisive yet darkly comic lens.

The story follows Balthy, an ultra-wealthy New York teenager who begins posting emotional videos online advocating for stricter gun laws in an attempt to impress an activist classmate. However, when his content attracts the attention of an online troll who claims he is planning a school shooting, he embarks on a misguided journey to Texas to confront him, with unexpected consequences.

✨ Middle-earth just got a new star ✨

Anya Taylor-Joy is joining The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum as Seren, an original Elven character created for the film.

Seren is a Sindarin Elf from the Woodland Realm and a “trusted and lethal agent” of King Thranduil (Lee Pace), but details are being kept under wraps for now.

Set between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring, the film follows the hunt for Gollum as Aragorn and Gandalf uncover key information about the One Ring.

The cast is stacked: Elijah Wood, Sir Ian McKellen, Lee Pace, Kate Winslet, Leo Woodall, and more.
