✨Our First Summer Workshop
Have you ever wanted to dance like a mermaid, or wondered how belly dancers can be so elegant and graceful while posing on the ground? Then look no further than Corework Floorwork, a workshop that teaches you the exercises that will help your floorwork technique. Join us on the 4th May at 6pm for our class.

Our Corework Floorwork class is a fun spin on our regular Belly Fit class. Fusing fitness with the muscle control of belly dancing this special workshop session will be focusing on floor work moves between a HIIT workout!

Taught by the incredible Charlotte Rapley, this class is welcome to everyone (no dance or workout experience required!). All you need is something soft to work out on such as a yoga mat.

🛎🎉🎉Summer Term Class Alert!🛎🎉🎉

Bitesize Belly Dance is an online Open-Level Belly Dance class perfect for anyone looking for a regular dance class for their final term of the academic year. Welcome for everyone, including non-members, so feel free to invite your friends!

Taught by the spectacular Sarah Lowe, our classes aim to give you an opportunity to develop your belly dancing skills whichever level or style you are. Be that beginners, advanced, fusion or cabaret, this class is designed to accommodate you and your busy summer schedule.

Classes are designed to be a drop-in style and completely self-contained, meaning if you have to miss a class it is completely fine! Each class will give you a chance to develop a set of particular moves that will be put into a gorgeous combo by the end.

The class is planned to run fortnightly, starting from 26th April, on Mondays at 7 pm. A single class is £7 for members, £9 for non-members and bulk buy pass (including all five classes, one for free) is £28.

Class Dates and lesson focuses are as follows:

26th April - Cabaret
10th May - Fusion
24th May - Cabaret
7th June - Fusion
21st June - Drum Solo

🥳✨Surprise final announcement! For the first time we will be introducing student dancers from another university! Just like us these students learned and performed these choreographies from home during quarantine. Here is a bit more information from their teacher the lovely Robyn:

NTU Bellydance is a small group of NTU students who have come together to learn belly dancing while having fun with friends! The group is a mix of levels and due to the ongoing pandemic this years group has yet to meet up and dance together in person. This term they have been working on a fusion choreography heavily inspired by the Mahraganat music that they are performing to. Yallah!

Last but certainly not least amongst our performers at is the brilliant Robyn! 🤩
The undeniable perk of an online show is that this year we can spread our wings far beyond the London scene and host incredible dancers from around the UK. 🌎
Robyn is a fusion and synchronised group improv belly dancer based in Nottingham. Robyn is the director of BlackPeacock Bellydance
with their own blend of Improv and the fusion performance group Pavonix. Passionate about enabling dancers to unlock their own creativity and expression, Robyn teaches regular classes (including NTU's Bellydance Society) covering movement technique, expression, musicality and cultural discussion. She is also part of the crew behind international festival Gothla UK. Her current focus is on studying with dancers of origin to explore the roots of the dance form.

We are absolutely thrilled for Robyn to join our virtual stage next week! 🌟

🎇 Kathleen is a London-based Fusion Bellydance artist and instructor, and a member of Curious Verses . Dancing obsessively since 2004, over the years Kathleen has studied extensively with many world renowned teachers, exploring a variety of dance and movement styles.Her grounded and embodied teaching style incorporates a strong element of breath work and body awareness. Known for her warmth and timeless quality as a performer, Kathleen blends an aesthetic rooted in vintage with a taste for organic exploration and an openness to the new.

This year she has been teaching our Fusion class and we couldn't be more excited to welcome her on our virtual stage 💖

Fusion bellydance encompasses many elements of the classical bellydance styles, tastefully mixing in flamenco, indian, contemporary dances and other influences. It celebrates femininity, strength, diversity and expression of individuality. ✨
