Let us talk about one of the rarer gems in the terpene world: Guaiol, which is also known as Champacol.
Unlike many fruitier terpenes, Guaiol brings a crisp, woody, and earthy aroma to the table. Extracted historically from the guaiacum wood tree, this unique compound stands out for its remarkably high boiling point. For patients, understanding boiling points is key to unlocking the full potential of your medication.

Ever heard of a terpene that moonlights as a cannabinoid?
Meet Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP). Found in everyday spices like cloves and black pepper, BCP is incredibly unique because it directly interacts with your body's CB2 receptors, just like a cannabinoid would.
If you are looking to understand how this spicy terpene can impact your wellness journey, we have broken down everything you need to know.

That is why we created The Easy Guide to Terpenes. Designed specifically for patients, this interactive guide breaks down:

A Space For Patients At Cannabis Europa brings an interactive sensory experience to the Barbican Centre on 26 and 27 May 2026. Presented by Ka Pharmaceuticals and KAST (Ka Aromatic Sensory Translation), this collaborative space features a groundbreaking terpene workshop designed to present terpenes in a completely new light. The session is specifically structured to help individuals with deprived sensory abilities better understand and identify these vital compounds.
In addition to the workshop, patients will have access to a Near-Infrared (NIR) tester on site. This advanced technology allows attendees to instantly analyse and identify cannabinoids, terpenes, and other key plant components.
The space is co-organised with We, The Patients supported by , , , Irish Medicinal Cannabis Council, and independent patient advocates. 50 free tickets have been shared with community patients to ensure grassroots access.
