The Dira Foundation promotes educational initiatives in Tanzania. Registered as a charity in England & Wales (#1154631).

Over the past decade, students from the UK have visited Mwereni School in Tanzania to be involved with a series of pioneering community projects. These initiatives have raised the quality of life and the standards of education for the young people who study at the school. The Dira Foundation has been established to build on this legacy. We want to make sure that this good work continues and that we can continue to invest in the young people of Tanzania.

Unfortunately the first case of Coronavirus has been detected in Arusha. We are deeply concerned about this and to how they will cope -we have water and soap but in many places in Tanzania this is a luxury. Our thoughts are with you all -stay safe.

Thank you to everyone that has supported this charity over the past year. Your support makes a huge difference to many children allowing them to climb out of poverty and a chance to create a brighter future for themselves, allowing some hope for the years ahead.
On behalf of the Dira Board we wish you all a happy and healthy 2020. Stay safe out there!

So what does a couple of hours playing football mean to others? Through the money we raised at our fund raiser we have been able to support Aloyce through his A levels and help him to achieve his dream of becoming an engineer. He has just started his course and we wish him well. Thank you to everyone that participated.

Thanks to all that came along today - it was lovely to meet up with so many of you. Unfortunately the old boys didn't quite live up to expectations. Perhaps the training habits of a few between matches didn't help. Lots of laughs and money raised - Thank you. Get into training for next year!
