We are celebrating here .den.leeds after officially opening our doors 🚪 today!

We started with a creche session followed by a packed-out baby class with the fab

Thanks to those of you who joined us for opening day - we can’t wait to welcome you all back ❤️

We were so lucky to have Lucy as a guest at our Mummy Buddy groups which we are running on behalf of Leeds Academies Trust - supporting their staff on mat leave - and it was such a brilliant session.

You may not be able to meet in person but that won’t stop Lucy getting you to have fun, get messy, supporting your little ones development as well as having some time for yourselves to meet other parents in the same situation!🙋‍♀️

We are in a hard space. One of those phases that comes around every now and again with young kiddies where every step feels like a battle. Naps take hours to achieve, meals are made then refused , screaming is a constant and mammy’s tears run as freely as the baby’s.

Crawling,potty training, multiple night wakings (and did I mention all the screaming? )means that during this phase(that will pass just as they have before) the limit of our togetherness as a couple is what you can see in this illustration.

There is love there...but not an ounce of energy.

Come 8.30pm I’m kissed-out, talked-out ive spent all day being a dinosaur,repeatedly making 5 piece jigsaws, chasing a two year old across the room while he casually walks by me having a poo and pulling our champion crawler out of every dangerous space going.

Date nights sounds lovely,sex sounds fab,kisses ...a wonderful idea. But not now. Not when things feel so hard.

On the couch ,numbed out with full bellies and silence is the most loving space we can exist in right now.

Our weekly topics will start from Monday, here on our Instagram page - these topics are great for you to chat through with your Buddy along with some nuggets of expert advice to guide and reassure.

If you haven’t already signed up, it’s really easy to do so - just follow the link in our bio and fill in the sign up form. It’s totally FREE to do so 👯‍♀️.

The more mums and expectant mums who sign up, the bigger the pool we have for matching you all. Basically, the more the merrier!

Well, what a great way to kick off our Leeds weekly Meet-Ups 🤸‍♂️! A big thanks to everyone who joined us today. It was great to (finally!) be in the company of so many friendly, relaxed mums and mums-to-be and, oh my, what beautiful babies (and bumps!) you have!

Thank you for having us.

Next week we’ll be hanging out in MEANWOOD PARK from 1pm on Thursday. Come join us, say hi and bring wine 🍷...! Oh how we miss the pubs!

Are you a local NEW MUM? 🤱💁‍♀️ Swing by and say “Hi”. Our meet-ups are a great sanity-saving way to meet local mums in a relaxed setting.

Bring a blanket, bring your baby, bring your mates. All mums will be ‘new’ so don’t worry about everyone knowing each other 💁‍♀️🤸‍♀️👯‍♀️.

Are you looking for an opportunity to help an award-winning social enterprise?

Perhaps something to keep your brain occupied or a feel-good hobby you can do from your sofa?

We are looking for someone to help run our Mummy Buddy Facebook Group, uploading Sanity Saving activities for our members to watch either live or on demand.

During lockdown we moved our support arm to our Facebook Group, linking our members with a schedule of brilliant live sanity saving activities. We are now focusing operations on ‘getting back to our core’ by organising socially distanced meet-ups which means we just haven’t got the capacity to keep up to speed with our Sanity Savers schedule. Members have told us how helpful these activities have been, “a lifeline during lockdown”, so we are keen to continue offering this support if we can.

Interested?
- We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting new-ish mums and mums-to-be
- It’s a pretty straightforward role, nothing too taxing.
- We can provide you with our current schedules/processes which you can use so you won’t need to start from scratch.
- We’ll happily offer references etc if you’d like to use this as a springboard to other employment roles.
- This volunteering role shouldn’t take more than half an hour a day, however, you may need to either schedule posts or be available to post activities at set times throughout the day
- It’s essential that you are confident using Facebook and other social media platforms as well as Canva for updating the weekly schedules
- There will be very little (if any?!) pressure from us so you can do as much or as little as possible
- Applications from friendly, enthusiastic easy-going people are preferred!

If you’d like to give it a shot, all you need to do is send us a short video of you (just you, nothing fancy or hi tech required) telling us about yourself and why you think you’d be great at this role.
