PORTRAIT OF A SACRED BEAUTY
Traditional Islamic Arts Exhibition

Join us for a special exhibition commemorating the 1500th anniversary of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) according to the Hijri calendar.

Curated by Nagihan Seymour, the exhibition brings together artists from the United Kingdom and Türkiye, celebrating centuries of spiritual devotion, artistic excellence, and cultural heritage through traditional Islamic arts.

Featuring works by Ahmet Sacit Açıkgözoğlu, Demet Tokbay, Dilara Karaağaç, Esma Ceylan, Gülcan Acar Başkan, Hanifi Dursun, Mustafa Cemil Efe, Nagihan Seymour, Naoki Yamamoto, Razwan Baig, Rizwan Khan, Safoh Al Mustafa, Sema Yurtseven, Sevim Çakır, Shanzay Baig, and Shazain Baig.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an insightful evening with historian and scholar Hüsamettin Şimşir | as part of the Arts and Culture Lecture Series at Yunus Emre Institute in London.

The lecture explored the evolving roles of women in warfare from ancient nomadic societies to late medieval Anatolia, challenging conventional narratives and shedding light on the often-overlooked contributions of women in military, political, and diplomatic spheres.
We were delighted to host such a thought-provoking discussion and to welcome an engaged audience for this fascinating journey through medieval history.

Music Across Borders — Session V: The Caucasus

From the shadow of Kars Castle to the mountain villages of the Caucasus, join us for an evening of listening exploring the rich musical traditions of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia.

Guided by Prof. Dr Mine Doğantan-Dack, this session journeys through the worlds of Âşıklık, Mugham, Georgian polyphony, folk dances, and shared cultural symbols that connect the peoples of the region.

Featuring music by Alim Qasimov, Rashid Behbudov, Zeyneb Khanlarova, Djivan Gasparyan, Selda Bağcan, Arif Sağ, Barış Manço, and many more.

A Listening Club shaped by music, memory, and the cultural ties that transcend borders.

🎨➕🔢 Maths in Motion at the Great Exhibition Road Festival |
What an incredible weekend at the Great Exhibition Road Festival 2026!
We were delighted to partner with Imperial College London | for Maths in Motion, an interactive workshop exploring the fascinating connection between the traditional art of Ebru marbling and the mathematics of fluid motion.
Led by artists Dilara Karaağaç alongside mathematician Dr Michele Coti Zelati, the workshop invited visitors of all ages to experiment with colour, water, and movement while discovering the mathematical principles behind flow, turbulence, and motion.
Over the course of the festival, we welcomed nearly 1,800 visitors, who created their own marbling artworks and experienced first-hand how art and science can come together in inspiring and unexpected ways.
