🍦☀️ Today we officially launched ICESQ – Stay Cool, Support School!
Our Pupil Parliament Cabinet has been working hard to set up this new venture, which aims to raise money to further enhance opportunities for children at SSQ whilst giving Cabinet members the chance to develop their leadership and responsibility skills. ICESQ will begin operating this week on Thursday and Friday after school from 3:30pm–3:45pm on the playground (weather permitting!).
Ice lollies will cost 50p and ice creams £1.
To help keep the queue moving, please bring coins and small change where possible. If your child has allergies, there will be allergen-friendly options available.
Please support your child in making appropriate choices, and if you are unsure whether a product is suitable for your child, please do ask a member of staff. We look forward to seeing the Cabinet bring this exciting project to life and raise money for the school.

🦋 Woolf Class have been learning all about Living and growing.
🔬 They have observed the real life cycle journey of the caterpillar to butterfly and grown plants from seeds.
🌳 Also during our Forest School sessions, sponsored by Edible Rotherhithe, they created a beautiful butterfly design on fabric using leaves that they collected from school and home gardens.

Professional Storyteller: Connection With Wonder

A huge well done to our Year 3 artists!
Last Friday, 20 children visited Bankside Yards (near Blackfriars Station) to see their River Thames-themed artwork displayed at a Multiplex Construction site.
They also learned about construction, took part in a STEM “tallest structure” challenge, met team members across different roles, and received hi-vis vests and goodie bags. Thank you to Matt Dean, Lea, our staff, parents, and Multiplex volunteers for making it such a proud and inspiring experience.

📢 We’re excited to be collaborating with the Old Kent Road Family Zone for our summer festival on Saturday 11 July 2026, from 11am to 2pm, with live music, food, drink, games, and more.
🚨 We’re also looking for parents or carers who may want to run a stall at the event. If you have a business or enterprise and would like to showcase your work, please contact Fi. Anyone interested will need to meet certain insurance requirements.
✉️ Please email [email protected] with your stall idea, and we’ll get back to you once final plans are confirmed.
We’d also love to hear from anyone with sponsor suggestions or raffle prize ideas.

✨Today marks the end of Foundation Subject Week for Years 1–6. During this week, children come away from their usual timetable to immerse themselves more deeply in subjects such as art, geography, RE, computing and design technology. It’s always a brilliant opportunity for children to develop specific subject skills, work creatively and make connections across their learning.
