A little bit about yourself:
Hi, I’m a student from Thailand. The reason why I do English is because I love reading and writing poetry. I am interested in postcolonial and q***r literature and the relationship between poetry and revolution. I read and write poetry to help me through my emotions ups and downs. I’m really excited to be your Welfare Officer for the year and create a safe space for your all.

I started my MA this year after completing my English Literature BA at King’s this summer. I love both reading and writing poetry, and am always open to being sent poetry recommendations! Beyond poetry, I enjoy baking and cooking (also open to new recipes and recommendations for spots to eat at)!

A little bit about yourself:
If u know me well enough, you’re probably aware of my incessant habit of creating a poetic analogy with the most mundane objects around us. I always have an issue of ‘Everyman’s Library Pocket Poets’ series at the bottom of my tote (currently reading ‘Love Letters’) and my taste in books and movies have always been very singular - I’m a classical literature fanatic. Although I plan to pursue clinical neuropsychiatry in the near future, I would never put my fondness for writing and dancing on the back burner. To end on a corny and rather prophetic note, I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone!🙈

Kicking it off with our first event of the year🪶✨

We will be hosting our Freshers Social & Taster tomorrow on Strand Campus (S3.03) between 17:00-19:00!

Please bring along poems with the theme New Beginnings to share (if not don’t worry, our committee will have poems at hand!)

This event is free for all and you do not need a membership to attend. Please come along if you fancy meeting like-minded poetry-loving individuals, and just to have a taster of the wonderful events our society holds in general. We appreciate it is late notice so don’t worry if you’re booked out, we’ll be holding more events in the coming weeks.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible tomorrow and meeting you all🤍
