Yesterday, Queen Mary University of London welcomed a delegation of Members of Parliament from the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (Turkish Parliament/TBMM), as part of a UK fact-finding programme on equality, inclusion, accessibility and non-discrimination in higher education.
The visit was chaired by Professor Colin Bailey, who shared the University's approach to social mobility, widening participation, diversity and inclusion, as well as the role of higher education in driving positive social change.
The Turkish delegation was particularly interested in Queen Mary's work to remove barriers to participation and ensure all students can thrive. Discussions focused on creating inclusive learning environments, supporting students from diverse backgrounds and improving accessibility across higher education.

Inspired by the themes of visibility, community, inclusion and action, our programme is designed to bring our community together, amplify voices and create opportunities for everyone to learn, reflect and take part.
As Dr Philippa Lloyd , Vice-Principal (Policy and Strategic Partnerships), highlights:

Queen Mary University of London welcomed delegates from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) China, for discussions on the future development of our partnership in actuarial science, insurance and artificial intelligence.
During the visit, Professor Jun Wen, Vice President of UIBE and Professor Wen Wang, Vice President for Science and Engineering at Queen Mary, exchanged ideas on academic collaboration, programme development, student opportunities and future cooperation between our two institutions.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration and strengthening ties between London and Beijing.
