One of the first things I share with the students I work with is:

“There’s no such thing as failure, just feedback.” 📢

Our education system is very results-driven, and it’s easy for teenagers to feel like a failure when they’re told their results aren’t good enough. 😔

Many students come to me with low confidence and feel they can’t turn things around. My aim is to help them take a negative experience and find the positive lesson in it. 🔄💪

A friend recently gave me such a great example of this, I had to share it!

🚗 This year, he’s been trying to pass his driving test:

He’s failed 3 tests so far ❌

Each time, he thought he’d passed because he completed the whole test. Currently, if you fail, the test is stopped immediately and you return to the test centre.

Each examiner told him he’s an excellent driver and that he only failed on one thing — with no minor faults. While it’s been tough, each “failure” has made him more determined to pass.

He reframed it perfectly, saying:

🗣️ “It’s just a test I haven’t passed yet, but I will.”

Although he didn’t pass, he sees it as valuable experience and is ready to try again.

Fingers crossed for next time! 🤞🚘
