Due to the extreme heat, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this evening's live Summer Showcase.

With 140+ guests and students under hot stage lighting, the auditorium temperature will simply be too high to guarantee everyone's safety and comfort.

✨The Good News: We're Moving to a Virtual Showcase!✨

Our pupils have worked far too hard for their efforts to go to waste, so we are thrilled to bring the showcase straight to your screens instead:

🎬Filming at School: We will record the performances during cooler school hours over the next few weeks.

🍿Watch from Home: Videos will be shared on our social media channels so you can enjoy them from a much cooler environment!

We'll be hosting several uniform pop-up shops at the front of the academy in the coming months to help families with the transition. You'll find the dates and times below:

☀️The summer social reading shelf has arrived! ☀️

Our World Book Day Readathon showed us that if there's one thing our academy loves, it's reading. That's why during the summer months, our Library Leaders are offering pupils more opportunities to relax in the sunshine with a good book. 📖

Pupils looking to take advantage should keep their eyes peeled for the Library Leaders in their high vis jackets at the following locations:

📍Main Courtyard: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
📍Year 7 Playground: Wednesdays.

Reading outdoors and sharing book recommendations with friends is a great way to stay connected to peers, make the most of the good weather, touch grass and feel closer to nature. 🌿🌸🌳

If it rains or you'd rather get cosy indoors, no problem! The library remains open as usual.

The Class of 2026 makes a stylish exit! ✨🎓

Co-op Academy North Manchester's Year 11 cohort seized the opportunity to show off their creative flair one last time at our leavers' assembly yesterday. It was a treat to see the bold, stylish designs on display as our Year 11s signed shirts, said their goodbyes, and exchanged gifts. 💐

There were big hugs, plenty of laughs, and a few happy tears shed; from pupils and teachers alike! Teachers got stuck into signing shirts themselves and wishing this brilliant cohort the very best for the future.

📢 Important Update for Year 10 Parents & Carers 📢

As on this coming Monday, the Year 10 Mocks will have officially started. The season will run from

🗓️ Monday, 22nd June 2026 to Friday, 3rd July 2026.

Here is a quick summary of what you and your child need to know to ensure everything runs smoothly:

⏱️ Key Timings & Attendance

Morning Exams: Start at 9:00 AM.

Afternoon Exams: Start at 13:00 PM.

Location: Sports Hall (or designated alternative rooms).

Attendance: Full attendance is vital. If your child is genuinely unwell on exam day, please contact the school attendance team immediately.

🚫 Exam Rules & Prohibited Items
To ensure fairness, formal exam rules apply from the moment pupils enter to when they leave the exam room.

Please help us by reinforcing these expectations:

👉 No Tech: Mobile phones, smartwatches, and all other electronic devices are strictly prohibited. They must be turned off and handed in to an invigilator or left in bags.

👉 Equipment: Only water in a clear, plastic bottle with no labels is allowed.

👉 Conduct: No talking, communicating, or disturbing others (including looking around or smiling). Disruptive behaviour will result in removal from the exam.

🎓 Access Arrangements & Support
These exams serve as a trial period to help us build the required JCQ evidence trail for formal GCSE access arrangements later on. We are working closely with teachers to ensure all individual learning and physical needs are supported.

The Co-op Academy North Manchester library team are celebrating pride month with a brand-new display that features the best of the year's q***r literature. 📖

Anyone interested in exploring identity, diving into q***r history or just celebrating beauty in diversity will find something exciting to read here. 🌈✨

Members of literary circles in the late 19th century would show support by wearing a green carnation pinned to their lapels. Green carnations don't exist naturally in the wild, so the dyed flower became a subtle message to identify themselves as friends of the q***r community. Even the great Oscar Wilde was known to wear one. 🟢🌸

Pupils are free to stop by the library whenever they like to explore the collection.

🏳️‍🌈 Happy Pride month everybody! 🎉

🎶Our music department would like to thank for securing us the donation of a Cornet. 🎶

The cornet is a warmer, rounder, mellower member of the trumpet family. It's smaller size makes it perfect for younger musicians with littler hands, who can hold it more easily and avoid getting tired arms during practice. 💪🎺🎶

To our generous donor: thank you for investing in the arts and supporting our music program. The gift has made its way into the hands of our talented students, and we can't wait to hear what the next generation of musicians can do! 🎶🥳

Co-op Academy's music pupils gave showstopping performances at the semi-final of the Young Musician of the Year awards. They delivered captivating performances, blending stunning vocals with impressive multilingual lyrics. 🎹✨

The talented semi-finalists covered a range of diverse styles. Amina took us to France with Voila (and sang the whole thing in French!), Nakaaya enchanted the room with You Stole the Show, and Harry gave us a heart-breaking rendition of Beautiful Things.

Congratulations to all of our performers for making it so far in the competition and Amina, who's headed to the final! 🌟
