We are keen to ensure parents and carers are well informed about what this means for them.

· A stronger focus on early help and multi-agency working to support families sooner

Greater emphasis on attendance and safeguarding responsibilities

-Measures to improve outcomes for children in care and those at risk

-Clearer expectations on how services work together to promote children’s wellbeing and safety

The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act: what parents need to know – The Education Hub The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act introduces a wide variety of measures to help children and families, from the cost of living and school reform to home education to safeguarding.  But how will this impact your family? Parent/Carer View Survey

Each year, our school asks parents and carers to complete the Parent/Carer View Survey. The survey gives families a chance to share their thoughts about the school and their child’s experience. Parents and carers can tell us what they think is working well and suggest ways we can improve. The information we collect helps our Governing Board and school leaders understand how families feel about important areas such as teaching, learning, behaviour, safety, communication, and support for pupils.
The Parent/Carer View Survey can be completed anonymously if you would prefer to share your views without providing your name. If you would like to discuss any of your responses in more detail, you can indicate on the survey that you would welcome further contact from the school. In this case, Mrs Bladen-Kay will be happy to speak with you about your feedback, answer any questions, or explore any concerns you may have. To arrange a meeting, please contact the school office, who will help schedule an appointment at a convenient time. We value open communication with our families and are committed to working together to support the best possible outcomes for every child.

Parent Travel to School Survey
Purpose of the survey
Salford City Council wants to better understand the challenges families face when travelling to and from school, especially what can make walking, wheeling (e.g. scooters), or cycling difficult. This will help identify how the Council and schools can better support safe and healthy journeys. All responses are anonymous. Please circle all responses and return the survey back to school by 19th June 2026.

The Big Future survey - have your say! 01/06/2026

The Big Future
Good morning,
I hope you all had a restful half-term break.
As Children’s Commissioner, I’m writing to ask for your support in helping children at your school or college take part in my national survey, The Big Future.
Your children can take part here: http://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigfuture
As schools and colleges return for the final weeks of the academic year, this is a valuable opportunity for children and young people to reflect on their experiences, share what matters most to them, and tell us about their hopes and ambitions for the future in their own words.
I want to hear from children and young people aged 0–18 from every background, in every part of the country. The survey asks about the things they enjoy, the challenges they face, the changes they would like to see in their communities, and what they believe a good childhood should look like today.
Participation in The Big Future also provides schools with an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to civic engagement. The findings will help inform national conversations and decision-making about children’s lives and futures at the highest levels.
To support you, I have created a pack of resources, including an introductory video, lesson materials and FAQs, all available on my website.
I will publish the findings next year, and they will help shape the conversations and decisions being made about children’s lives and futures for years to come.
As ever, thank you so much for your support.
Dame Rachel de Souza
Children’s Commissioner for England
