First ever FSRE Fast Track course... and a 100% pass rate 🙌

FSRE replaced CeMAP 1 this January when the whole qualification got overhauled, so this was a brand new course I'd spent months building. I genuinely didn't know how it was going to go.

10 out of 11 students passed before 5pm on the Friday. The last student sat and passed on Monday.

Every. Single. One.

I keep my groups capped at 11 (most providers take up to 25) and every student has their camera on throughout so I can see the second someone's struggling and get them the support they need, even in a group setting.

You know the CeMAP 3 is 'different', & that's because it's case study-based.

You might get an example where the family home hasn't sold yet, so one party buys a new property and pays the additional rate of Stamp Duty because they still have an interest in the marital home, & you're dealing with a client trying to buy that second property.

Let's say the family home finally sells as part of the divorce settlement a year or so later.

Because that property was their previous main residence, and it was sold within 36 months of buying the new home, they can apply for a refund of the additional Stamp Duty paid.

When you're answering case study questions, always ask yourself:

👉🏻 Is there a previous main residence involved?
👉🏻 Has it been sold?
👉🏻 Was it sold within 36 months of purchasing the replacement property?

This was never part of the grand plan.

I didn’t start this business on purpose. What I mean by that is I didn’t wake up one morning and decide I wanted to dedicate my life to supporting people through their Financial Qualifications.

What actually happened was far less ‘Caption-Worthy’.

I woke up one morning and found out I was pregnant, the hours that followed left me realising if I was going to be a parent, I’d be doing it on my own. The concept terrified me. Not because I didn’t think I was capable, but because I couldn’t see HOW it was possible.

How was I meant to be the sole provider for someone? How was I meant to work full time AND do the school run? How was I meant to take 13 weeks a year off work when I got 28 days plus bank holidays? How could I possibly afford it?

I had to make it work, and for me Mortgage Advice was the answer. I was going to get my CeMAP before my daughter was born, work in an employed role for a year or so while she was at nursery, and then go self employed just before she started school so I could work an 11 - 2 and not a 9 - 5.

There was just one problem… I couldn’t pass the exam. I used the textbook, I tried E-Careers, I booked on a Fast Track Course with Simply Academy, and I failed, over and over again. But I couldn’t fail, because it wasn’t about me anymore.

So I started to talk about CeMAP (and my failure) openly online, and all of a sudden I realised I wasn’t the only one who had these crazy ambitious ideas. I also wasn’t the only one finding CeMAP impossible.

And then somehow, Future in Finance happened. Now I get to support people through their dreams every day, and I get to do it around the school run, around 13 weeks holiday a year, around being a full time single parent & I do it all knowing I’m building genuine financial security for me and my daughter every single day.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, It IS possible, & I want to support you through it.

Students have reported anywhere between 3 - 7 questions across their 3 CeMAP exams so make sure you’re hot on this and save it for that last minute exam cram.

CeMAP 3 catches people out for a reason… and it’s usually not because they “don’t know enough”.

Most people struggle for two reasons… Protection knowledge and time management.

That case study opens and suddenly you’re staring at pages of client information, objectives, income figures, dependents, policies, properties… and your brain tries to hold ALL of it at once.

But CeMAP 3 was never designed to test whether you can memorise an entire case study, It’s testing whether you can FILTER information quickly and spot what’s relevant to THAT question.
