We’re delighted to share that Lisa Fathers OBE has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Bright Futures Educational Trust.

Following a robust selection process and a unanimous decision by our Board of Trustees, Lisa moves from her role as Interim CEO into the substantive position with immediate effect.

Having served as Interim CEO, Deputy CEO and in various executive roles across the Trust, Lisa has provided strong, values-led leadership over many years—placing children and young people at the heart of every decision, strengthening leadership across the Trust, and building our culture of collaboration and ambition.

We’re excited to continue our journey under Lisa’s leadership, as we deliver excellence, inclusion and opportunity for every child and young person - 'the best for everyone, the best from everyone'.

We were delighted to welcome Vicky Beer CBE, Regional Director for the Department for Education in the North West, for a special farewell visit to Bright Futures. 🧡

Hosted at Cedar Mount Academy, the visit brought together students, staff and leaders to celebrate Vicky’s lasting contribution to education across the region.

A highlight was hearing directly from our Cedar Mount Young Leaders, who shared their experiences and vision for the future, demonstrating the power of student voice in driving school improvement.
