Today, on National Thank a Teacher Day, we're celebrating the incredible teachers who inspire, support and encourage our children every single day.
Their dedication, patience and passion make a difference that extends far beyond the classroom, helping the children to grow in confidence, discover their potential and achieve their goals.
Thank you to all of our amazing teachers for everything you do. We appreciate you today and every day. ๐ŸŽโœจ

What a way to kick off our Egyptian learning journey...... a visit to Manchester Museum to meet Jenny and her team! We have learned so much and had the pleasure of being able to observe, discuss and interact with so many rare and wonderful artefacts in this wonderful space. We also had time to enjoy the exhibitions surrounding other cultures and the Natural World too!

Year 4 had lots of fun exploring different painting techniques. The children used a range of tools, including paintbrushes, cotton buds, glue spatulas and lolly pop sticks, to experiment with creating different marks, textures and effects.

They were then given an apple to observe closely and used the techniques they had practised to create their own observational painting. The children thought carefully about how to make their artwork look more realistic by adding light and shade to create a 3D effect.

The class really enjoyed this session and loved exploring new techniques and are very proud of themselves.

Today in Spanish, Year 5 began their exciting journey towards the World Cup in America! As part of their travel preparations, the children used their excellent Spanish language skills to create their own passports, ready to pass through passport control and board their flight next week.

It was fantastic to see them confidently using Spanish vocabulary and phrases while getting into the role of international travellers. We can't wait to see where their learning adventure takes them next!

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Buen viaje, Year 5! ยกNos vemos en el Mundial!

Flashback to last half term when Year 1 finally brought their smoothie creations to life. They proudly showcased their bright new packaging on every cup, complete with a tiny straw umbrella ready for tasting. Their beautiful blends were a hit, and the afternoon was filled with smiles and laughter as their vision became something they could hold. Even a few teachers had the pleasure of a sample, adding to the excitement of the moment.

As part of their History topic, Crime and Punishment, Year 6 arrived to shocking news this morning: Miss Diamond and Miss McGhie had been arrested by the Classroom Crime Unit! ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ”

The pupils took on the role of detectives, investigating alleged offences by creating mugshots, identifying potential crimes, gathering evidence and building cases against the suspects. They then used their findings to write detailed crime reports, presenting their evidence and conclusions with impressive creativity and historical understanding.

The investigation produced some highly imaginative accusations and some very convincing โ€œevidenceโ€ indeed! ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ“‹

Miss Diamond and Miss McGhie would, however, like to state for the record that they strongly refute any and all allegations made against them and maintain their complete innocence! ๐Ÿ˜‡

๐Ÿ”ท Year 5 had a fantastic maths lesson today exploring the properties of 3D shapes! ๐Ÿ”ท
The children were introduced to new mathematical vocabulary, including prism and vertex, and worked hard to identify and describe the features of a variety of 3D shapes. They particularly enjoyed collaborating in groups to sort and classify shapes according to their properties, using excellent teamwork and mathematical reasoning.
It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, discussion and problem-solving as our young mathematicians developed their understanding of shape and space. Well done, Year 5! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ”บ๐ŸงŠ
