Changes to the Law 👇

You will have seen in the press that social media use for under 16s is going to be banned in 2027.

In addition, the law has changed around mobile phones in school. From September The Government is introducing a legal ban on smartphones in schools in England and children will be not permitted to bring any mobile phones into school that can access the internet, social media or take photos and video.

Schools can enforce the use of signal blocking pouches, collect in phones at the gates or ban smart phones altogether. One issue with this is that buying signal blocking pouches and installing the devices so pupils can unlock them at the end of the day is very expensive and we would prefer not to pass any associated costs onto parents.

While we are investigating our options we do invite your comments and views by joining us for coffee on Friday 26 June at 2.15pm to discuss your opinions.

🏏 HISTORIC WIN FOR CMA! 🏏

For the first time ever, CMA has defeated the cup holders, Manchester Grammar School, in a huge statement victory! 💥

Batting first, CMA posted 98 runs with contributions all through the order. Every player chipped in with valuable 20s and 30s, with standout performances from Ibrahim and Mohammed Ali, who remained not out to guide the innings.

CMA then started brilliantly with the ball, taking 2 early wickets to put MGS under pressure from the start. Sadaqah and Asad were outstanding, both claiming 4 wickets each in a dominant bowling display. 🎯

Man of the Match goes to Asad for his incredible all-round impact! 👏

With just one game separating the team from the semi-finals, this squad is looking stronger than ever. 💪🔥

Yesterday, we took over 50 of our Drama pupils to the Bolton Octagon Theatre to watch Teechers - 'a funny, fast moving, hard hitting account of life at Whitewall Academy'. 💚

Our Year 10 cricket team kicked off the season in style with a thrilling 11-run victory in the opening round of the MCR Schools Cup.

The match saw a historic moment for CMA as Abdul produced an outstanding all-round performance, scoring an unbeaten 36* before taking the school’s first-ever cricket hat-trick! 👏🔥

Strong batting contributions also came from Abubaker (34) and Ali (28), helping the team post a competitive total.

With the ball, Ibraheem and Ahmed kept things tight under pressure, playing a key role in defending the score during a tense finish.

A fantastic team performance from all involved and the boys now progress to the quarterfinals of the MCR Schools Cup! 💪🏆
